It was a mad dash with subcontractors working on top of subcontractors to put the finishing touches on the home in time for the big giveaway. A state-of-the-art kitchen, a huge primary suite and more can be yours for the price of one ticket. The money raised goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. State specific eligibility rules are listed in the full terms and conditions found on each market page. For all giveaways, you must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence, whichever is older, as of the date of entry, and a living resident of the United States.
To achieve this, I decided to go with a color palette that paired deep greens and natural wooden tones with bright whites, glossy surface materials, and splashes of matte black hardware for contrast. Throughout the home you’ll find aspects of this palette playing out in different ways, and, because it’s so spacious, we were also able to include plenty of unique light fixtures to bring it all together. To create this aesthetic, the kitchen features a tiled backsplash, wood cabinets in a distressed chestnut finish, and its central island is surrounded by Harper Barstools which feature upholstered seats with classic nailhead trim. The designers wanted the dining room to offer a contemporary take on the farmhouse look so they paired The Edge Dining Set with the Flora Rug and modern accessories. The Edge Dining Table features a rustic live wood edge as well as a black steel trestle base, and the Flora Rug showcases a floral design that’s as comforting as it is stylish.
St. Jude a chance
From there, they opted for textured rugs under each of the beds, and they placed a variety of throw pillows with unique hand-woven patterns throughout the rooms. To complete the look, both of the bedrooms feature eye-catching art, intriguing accessories, and plenty of potted plants. As the Oakwood Home’s Interior Designer, Hannah McKenner made all the final decisions relating to the semi-permanent fixtures and finishes of this year’s Dream Home. If you're new to interior design, the term “fixtures and finishes'' refers to the design elements that are physically attached to the home. These can include the types of flooring, counter tops, as well as the tiles used in the kitchen and bathrooms; and they include the colors of paint used on the walls, ceilings, as well as the type of hardware that adorns the sinks, cabinets, and doors. As any interior designer can tell you, creating a cohesive home aesthetic is more than just coming up with the right configuration of beautiful furniture.
Barb also decided to use curtains with a “soft black” color in the dining room instead of gray or charcoal to offset the farmhouse look with a more moody, modern vibe. The basement employs many of the same finishes and fixtures as the rest of the home, but there are some subtle touches in the bathroom that give it more of a "man-cave" feel. The shower is bedecked with glossy black tiles in a classic brick-house pattern, and the cabinets are painted black to contrast the cosmopolitan white marble countertop. The basement of the Dream Home features a large central living space, a bathroom, a boy-themed kids bunk bed room, a second guest room, and a third downstairs bedroom that's been converted into an office space.

Jude a chance In September, which is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Chili’s guests would be offered a coloring page featuring the outline of a chili pepper for a $1 donation to St. Jude . St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. And families never receive a bill from St. Jude because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Friday will be a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day with a wind chill warning still in place. The sound of the doorbell will be music to the ears of the giveaway winner. Your ticket makes you eligible for all the prizes whose deadline hasn't passed.

Each year a brand new Dream Home is constructed by a local business and offered as a prize in a raffle ticket contest. For months, tickets for the raffle are sold to any and all who wish to participate. Once the home is ready, it is then furnished and styled by one of our in-house designers before being opened to the public for a few weeks of open house tours. Finally, on the day of the final drawing, a ticket is selected and the home is given away to one lucky winner. 100% of the ticket sales from the Dream Home Giveaway are used to make sure the patients and families at St. Jude’s never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.

Finally, the designers used the area rug along with the vases atop the Allure coffee table to deliver some subtle splashes of color. One of our favorite things about being a part of the Dream Home Giveaway is that we get to furnish the home with a variety of new, stylish pieces that you can find at Furniture Row®. In year’s past we have sent only one of our in-house designers to style the home, but this year’s home was designed by six designers working as a team. The actual vehicle features/options, including but not limited to vehicle style, color, design, and interior and exterior features will be determined by Sponsor.

To achieve this eye-catching contemporary look, the designers asked the builders to repaint the entire fireplace a deep, dark blue to create a focal point. The designers placed two Liz Arm Chairs in front of the fireplace which are brand new to Furniture Row and offer stylish mid-century modern silhouettes. Next, they filled in the seating area with two streamlined sofas in a pebble gray finish, and they added additional throw pillows in complementary grey and beige tones to give the room a modern, monochromatic foundation.
A truly well-designed home showcases a specific style within an inviting and livable interior; and every element, from the home’s semi-permanent fixtures and finishes to the furnishings and decor found in each room, complement each other to make a lasting impression. The living space at the top of the stairs seamlessly continues the home’s aesthetic and features a large ceiling fan with a spoked design that echoes that of the chandelier in the dining room. The chances of winning are based on the number of tickets sold. If fewer tickets are sold, the chances of winning improve. While many of the bedrooms carry the living room’s modern look throughout the rest of the home, the guest bedroom and the basement bedroom display the home’s Boho aesthetic best. Finally, Barb used a lighter touch when it came to rustic or farmhouse decor, and she found artwork that showcased outdoor activities to build upon the basement’s man-cave aesthetic.
Like in many homes, some of the most impactful fixtures and finishes are located in the kitchen. In a nod to the color palette found on the walls and ceilings, the lower kitchen cabinets are painted a deep forest green while the upper cabinets are finished in a bright Sea Salt white. For the countertops, Hannah opted to use a crystalline white quartz because it is durable and easy to clean while still providing a hint of glamor.
Stepping into the kitchen and dining room immediately gives one a sense of farmhouse charm. As in years past, Furniture Row played a part in this incredible contest by furnishing and styling the interior of the Dream Home, and to celebrate its completion, we’re offering a detailed glimpse into how exactly the unique style of this year’s home came to be.
